LITTLE HORN

1. What did the fourth beast have?
Read: Daniel 7:7

After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten __________ .

2. What do the 'ten horns' symbolize?
Read: Daniel 7:24

And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten __________ that shall arise.

NOTE: The ten horns represent ten kings, or kingdoms, that shall arise out of Rome. Unlike the previous kingdoms, Rome was not conquered by another kingdom. Due to internal struggle, Rome was divided among ten barbarian tribes: 1) Burgundians, 2) Visigoths, 3) Franks, 4) Lombards, 5) Suevi, 6) Alemanni, 7) Anglo-Saxons, 8) Heruli, 9) Vandals, 10) Ostrogoths. Seven of them became Western European countries: 1) Burgundians become Switzerland, 2) Visigoths become Spain, 3) Franks become France, 4) Lombards become Italy, 5) Suevi become Portugal, 6) Alemanni become Germany, 7) Anglo-Saxons become Britain. The other three: Heruli, Vandals, Ostrogoths were destroyed.

3. What came up among the ten horns?
Read: Daniel 7:8

I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another __________

NOTE: As the ten horns represent ten kings or kingdoms (Daniel 7:24), 'another little horn' represents another kingdom that was little, especially in comparison to the other ten kingdoms. This little kingdom came up among the ten kingdoms, which were in the territory of Rome, which is Western Europe.

4. What happened to three of the first ten horns when the little horn came up?
Read: Daniel 7:8

I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns __________ up by the __________

NOTE: Three of the first ten horns were plucked up by the roots, or uprooted, before the little horn.

5. What is the meaning of 'being plucked up by the roots'?
Read:  2 Chronicles 7:19-21; Psalm 52:2-5; Jeremiah 12:17

But if they will not obey, I will utterly __________ up and __________ that nation, saith the Lord. (12:17)

NOTE: 'Being plucked up by the roots' means 'being completely destroyed.' Three of the ten barbarian tribes, namely Heruli, Vandals, Ostrogoths, were completely destroyed before or in the presence of the kingdom represented by the little horn.

6. What kingdom subdued three of the ten kingdoms?
Read: Daniel 7:24  â€‹

And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and __________ shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings.

NOTE: The 'another' kingdom that arose after the ten kingdoms subdued three of the ten kingdoms. According to Daniel 7:8, this 'another' kingdom was the little horn kingdom. Hence, three of the ten barbarian tribes, namely Heruli, Vandals, Ostrogoths, were subdued or completely destroyed by the little horn.
