MARK OF THE BEAST

1. There are 2 beasts in Revelation 13: The first beast - the sea beast - and the second beast - the earth beast. Which one is worshiped?
Read: Revelation 13:4; Revelation 13:8; Revelation 13:12

And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the __________ beast, whose deadly wound was healed. (13:12)

NOTE: Only the first beast [the sea beast] was worshiped. The second beast [the earth beast'causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast.'

2. What do the 'sea beast' (Revelation 13), the 'little horn' (Daniel 7), and the 'woman' (Revelation 17) symbolize?
Answer: The Roman Catholic Church (See SEA BEASTLITTLE HORN, END-TIME BABYLON). They symbolize the Roman Catholic Church system, not the people or believers, not the leaders.

NOTE: Only the first beast [the sea beast, the Roman Catholic Church] was worshiped because it was a religious power.
The second beast [the earth beast, the United States of America (see EARTH BEAST)] â€‹â€‹'causeth [made, compelled, forced] the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast [the Roman Catholic Church].' This beast was able to do it because it was a political power that had a military force.

3. What does this beast - the sea beast - have?
Read: Revelation 14:9

And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his __________ in his forehead, or in his hand,

NOTE: This sea beast [the Roman Catholic Church] has a 'mark.'

4. What are the other words (synonyms) with 'mark' in the Bible?
Read: Daniel 6:17; Romans 4:11

The original Greek word of 'to seal' means: 'to mark', 'to set a mark upon' (see Thayer's Greek Lexicon).
NOTE: 'Mark' is synonymous with 'seal.'

11 And he received the __________ of circumcision, a __________ of the righteousness of the faith which he had yet being uncircumcised: (4:11)

NOTE: 'Seal' is synonymous with 'sign.'
And so, 'mark' is also synonymous with 'sign.'

5. What is the sign or mark of authority of the Roman Catholic Church?

Stephen Keenan, Catholic—Doctrinal Catechism 3rd Edition page 174:
Question: Have you any other way of proving the Church has power to institute festivals of precept?
Answer: Had she not such power, she could not have done that in which all modern religionists agree with her, she could not have substituted the observance of Sunday the 1st day of the week, for the observance of Saturday the 7th day, a change for which there is no Scriptural authority.

Catholic Record of London, Ontario, September 1, 1923:
The Church is above the Bible; and this transference of Sabbath observance from Saturday to Sunday is a proof positive of that fact. Deny the authority of the Church and you have no adequate or reasonable explanation or justification for the substitution of Sunday for Saturday in the Third - Protestant Fourth - Commandment of God.

John A. O'Brien, The Faith of Millions: the Credentials of the Catholic Religion Revised Edition (Our Sunday Visitor Publishing, 1974) pages 400-401:
But since Saturday, not Sunday, is specified in the Bible, isn't it curious that non-Catholics, who claim to take their religion directly from the Bible and not from the Church, observe Sunday instead of Saturday? Yes, of course, it is inconsistent; but this change was made about fifteen centuries before Protestantism was born, and by that time the custom was universally observed. They have continued the custom even though it rests upon the authority of the Catholic Church and not upon and explicit text in the Bible. That observance remains as a reminder of the Mother Church from which the non-Catholic sects broke away—like a boy running away from home but still carrying in his pocket a picture of his mother or a lock of her hair.

NOTE: The sign, or mark, of authority of the Roman Catholic Church, the sea beast, is the 'transference of Sabbath observance from Saturday to Sunday' (Catholic Record of London, Ontario, September 1, 1923)

6. What does the little horn - the Roman Catholic Church - 'think' to do?
Read: Daniel 7:25

And think to change __________ and __________

7. What commandment relates to time - God's 'times and laws'?
Read: Exodus 20:8-11Deuteronomy 5:12-15

8 Remember the __________ day, to keep it holy. 9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: 10 But the seventh day is the __________ of the LORD thy God: (20:8-11)

12 Keep the __________ day to sanctify it, as the LORD thy God hath commanded thee. 13 Six days thou shalt labour, and do all thy work: 14 But the seventh day is the __________ of the LORD thy God: (5:12-15)

NOTE: The Sabbath is 'of' the LORD. God prophesied that the Roman Catholic Church would change His law and His time.
