1. Compare the similarities between the beast rising up out of the sea in Revelation 13 and the little horn in Daniel 7 (read LESSON 05: LITTLE HORN)?

 

BOTH RISING UP OUT OF THE SEA

1.a. The beast was rising up out of the sea

Read: Revelation 13:1 ​

And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the __________ , having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.

1.b. The little horn came up on the head of the fourth beast, which came up from the sea

Read: Daniel 7:3 ​

And four great beasts came up from the __________ , diverse one from another.

Read: Daniel 7:7,8,​19,20

7 After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns. 8 I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another __________ , (7,8)

19 Then I would know the truth of the fourth beast, which was diverse from all the others, exceeding dreadful, whose teeth were of iron, and his nails of brass; which devoured, brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with his feet; 20 And of the ten horns that were in his __________ , (19,20)

  

BOTH SPEAKING AGAINST GOD

2.a. The beast was speaking great things and blasphemies against God

Read: Revelation 13:5,6 ​

And there was given unto him a mouth speaking __________ and __________;

2.b. The little horn was speaking great things, very great things, great words against the most High.

Read: Daniel 7:8,20,​25

8 I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking __________ . 

20 And of the ten horns that were in his head, and of the other which came up, and before whom three fell; even of that horn that had eyes, and a mouth that spake very __________ , whose look was more stout than his fellows.

25 And he shall speak __________ against the most High,

BOTH RULING FOR 1260 YEARS

3.a. The beast was given power to continue for 42 months or 1260 prophetic days, or 1260 literal years

Read: Revelation 13:5

And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue __________.

 

3.b. The little horn was given power over the saints of the most High for 'a time' (one year) and 'two times' (two years) and 'the dividing, or half, of time' (half a year), which was 3 1/2 prophetic years, or 3 1/2 X 360 days = 1260 prophetic days, or 1260 literal years.

And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until __________ .

BOTH MAKING WAR WITH THE SAINTS

4.a. The beast was making war with the saints and overcome them

Read: Revelation 13:7​

And it was given unto him to make war with the __________ , and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.

4.b. The little horn wore out the saints and was given power over them.

Read: Daniel 7:​25

And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall __________ the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be __________ into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.

LESSON 05: LITTLE HORN explains that the Little Horn represents the Vatican or the Roman Catholic Church based on the 9 characteristics described in Daniel 7. As we compare the 4 characteristics of the beast rising up out of the sea and of the little horn, we see that they are one and the same, both representing the Vatican or the Roman Catholic Church. This beast symbolizes the Roman Catholic Church system, not the people or believers, not the leaders.
